August 10, 2009:
Daniel Banks, P.E. joins the Rushforth Solar Advisory
board. Dan is a senior member of the Association of Energy Engineers. He provides
structural, mechanical, and energy engineering consultations and designs for
architects, engineers, builders, and investors for the past 40 years in the
Delaware Valley. He has taught Building Inspections for Engineers,
Architects, and Contractors for the past 15 years. He holds advanced
degrees in Civil and Mechanical Engineering from the University of
Pennsylvania. We are extremely pleased that Daniel Banks has agreed to add
his wealth of knowledge and experience to the Rushforth Solar Advisory
Board.
July 7, 2009:
PA DEP approves their first commercial solar thermal rebate - $20,000 (the
maximum rebate) for a Rushforth Solar hot water installation for Rose Court
Apartments, a 36 unit Galman Group property located on Allens Lane in
Philadelpia.
June 8, 2009:
CERA Official Acknowledges “Peak Oil is Here” “Speaking at the Center for Strategic & International Studies in Washington DC on 8 June, CERA Global Oil Group Managing Director Jim Burkhard began and ended his talk by stating that “CERA acknowledges that peak oil is here, you heard it from a CERA person.” Until now, CERA has been saying Peak Oil is decades off. May 22, 2009:
PA solar rebate program opens: PA Sunshine program is now for applications for grants up to 25% for solar hot water systems. The first 1,500 approved solar thermal applications are to receive a 25% rebate (up to $20,000 rebate) then 20% for the next 1,500 applications, then 15% for the next 1,500, then reducing to 10% assuming any funds are left. Rushforth Solar reaches out to apartment owners and condo associations at the AAGP/CAI trade show at Valley Forge, PA, to spread the word about new subsidies for solar hot water and how it can make good sense for apartment building owners. (Apartment Association of Greater Philadelphia and Community Associations Institute for condo communities).

April 13, 2009:
CFA approves bond financing to fund PA Sunshine program.
Four delegates from Rushforth Solar travel to Harrisburg to encourage the Commonwealth Finance Agency to implement the PA Sunshine solar rebate program. CFA approves bond financing unanimously later that same day.

Rushforth Solar approved for commercial solar hot water grant. In April 2008, TRF / Sustainable Development Fund formally approved Rushforth Solar LLC for a $25,000 competitive grant to be used to subsidize 4 large solar hot water systems for 20 units or up apartment buildings (or equivalent). October 30, 2007:
First NABCEP solar thermal installer certification in Philadelphia area goes to Alan Rushforth. North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners has the motto, “The One That’s Hard to Get” as their certification, which requires years of documented solar experience and completed projects to even qualify to sit for the test.

July 26, 2007:
Rushforth Solar LLC officially formed: 30 years after Alan Rushforth’s first solar thermal installation, and after decades experience in contracting and apartment investing and energy efficient renovations, Alan and partners officially form Rushforth Solar LLC on a mission to get commercial solar hot water ‘going’ in the Philadelphia vicinity.
