Westfield Apartments This 52 unit apartment building received a 26 panel solar hot water system projected to reduce emissions equivalent to removal of 3.3 cars from the road, while saving the owner approximately $6,201 in fuel costs and providing a 18% return on investment.

26 collector arrayThis building happened to be well aligned for solar, so placing the array parallel with the building not only produced optimal performance, but it also fit on the roof nicely and looked good.

TankThis high performance, long life tank assembly not only preheats incoming water in sunny periods but can preheat incoming water to some extent in cloudy periods also.

New high efficiency heaterRushforth Solar also installed this 95% ultra-efficient high recovery commercial hot water heater and combined 2 hot water loops into 1. The extra savings from this heater upgrade from 2 very inefficient prior set ups is projected to further reduce emissions equivalent to removal of 2 cars from the road, while saving the owners an additional $3,787 per year in fuel.

Work in process.Alan and Ray are 2 brothers that get down to business and work well together. Extra plumbing work in this project involved replacing significant portions of 2 domestic hot water loops and combining them into one loop, plus installing a new ultra high efficiency water heater. The domestic hot water circulation system was also re-configured to use 1/20 of the watts, resulting in an electrical savings of about $950 per year.

Rack roof mountEach rack mounting foot bolts to an engineered plate that is raised above any roof puddles and securely anchored into to at least 2 roof joists. The roof warranty was kept intact by retaining the roofer supplying the roof warranty to roof in the plates.

One of the old water heater combosThis building had 2 inefficient indirect heater/tank combos that involved 2 heaters, 2 tanks, and 4 pumps that were frequently needing service. Rushforth Solar replaced that mess with one super efficient heater and one super efficient low maintenance pump. Aside from gas savings, $1,000 per year of pump electric use was reduced to $50 per year, with better results.
